[Circana] Xbox 美国 YTD 硬件销量创历史新低,PlayStation 降至 2013 年以来最低点
[Circana] Xbox YTD US hardware unit sales are at an all-time low, while PlayStation is at lowest point since 2013
Seems like a good time for both to be doubling down on exclusives.
That is gonna get even lower.
All time low and lowest point so far

Xbox selling like shit? No way!
Yeah the new gen is cooked
I see this yet Pro's are still selling out, will be interesting seeing numbers when GTA drops

Unshakable Resolve - Prophet of Truth
surely $1000 consoles will help
I would imagine, for many, there's just a line in the sand that they won't buy a console unless it's below $300. But pricing is going in the opposite direction during an economic downturn, so this feels entirely expected.
Seems like a good time for both to be doubling down on exclusives.
If you think this isn't affecting the Switch 2, I don't know what to tell you. The Switch 1 cost $200, the Switch 2 costs $500 today.
I hate this timeline.
I mean yeah, prices went up cause of the RAM and storage. Like it's not rocket science these sales are going to be down
If you think this isn't affecting the Switch 2, I don't know what to tell you. The Switch 1 cost $200, the Switch 2 costs $500 today.
And it will be $550 soon
This gives an idea of the market for 1k+ gaming devices.
Yeah this all thanks to AI bullshit. Sony is lucky PS5 is just about at 100 million but they're pretty fucked with PS6. Xbox is beyond fucked.
And it will be $550 soon
think they'll wait for the holiday to raise prices again.
I see this yet Pro's are still selling out, will be interesting seeing numbers when GTA drops
These numbers are from August before the GTA extended look. But Pros selling out doesn't mean much unless we know how many they shipped in the first place.

Pro is out of stock everywhere
Turns out increasing the prices of 6 year old consoles will cause sales to crater! Who would have guessed!
Pro is out of stock everywhere
Sure, but do they sell in the millions?
It's one of those mysteries..
Tough times. And yeah the prospect of next gen consoles doing anything substantial in terms of market adoption is a joke at this point.
This gen is gonna be the "base" for a long, long time.
It's the same all across the tech space:

People have less disposable income, but prices are going up. It's about the most predictable news imaginable.
Sick industry we got here!
Pro is out of stock everywhere
Yet that isn't translating to overall hardware sales.

picross or it didn't happen
it really makes no sense to me that both companies are looking to launch their next console next year when the situation is like this, but what do i know
The Switch 1 cost $200
, the Switch 2 costs $500 today.
when?
These numbers are from August before the GTA extended look. But Pros selling out doesn't mean much unless we know how many they shipped in the first place.
I agree they probably are not shipping much due to the bill of goods, just saying they are selling ever one they make.
I bet they drop to 1tb to keep costs down after the holiday/during it.
Console sales down, PC sales down, next gen starts at $1,000.
Pretty soon we'll all just be playing games on our phones.

Honestly it seems like 499 is the line. When the PS5 was only 500 it was selling pretty decent.
People still buy in at 550-600, but once your past 600 it's a much tougher purchase.
GTA6 won't save Playstation or Xbox. They're cooked in 2027
Yet that isn't translating to overall hardware sales.
Like someone else posted this is from August.

The mobile gaming future truthers from 15 years ago were right.
Great time to launch consoles with double the price

Switch lite?
it was 250
, and it was never the best selling version of the console. the best selling version for years had been the 350 dollar OLED.
edit: nvm my bad, that's not true
Yeah, just saw this.
Wild that PS5, I assume the Series S and Pro is part of this, is averaging a higher price than Xbox....and still outselling it.
Dayum.
The ultra wealthy will soon find out as they always do
The phrase is bread AND circus, not bread OR circus
Like someone else posted this is from August.
Possible that's a combination of not a huge amount shipped+people rushing to get them now before prices increase even more.
Also thanks AI for making everything unaffordable, love that.

Switch lite was def 199 when it launched
Seems like a good time for both to be doubling down on exclusives.
PS has been exclusive for most of its existence. That's not really a crazy development. They have a massive userbase already. Xbox isn't really going exclusive. All their games are on PC and case by case basis with other consoles.
I see this yet Pro's are still selling out, will be interesting seeing numbers when GTA drops
I mean they can sell consoles, sure, but I can still see them making statements down the line along the lines of "this is the first time a GTA game hasn't sold as quickly as V or IV," due to the obvious factors affecting the entire industry.
Honestly it seems like 499 is the line. When the PS5 was only 500 it was selling pretty decent.
People still buy in at 550-600, but once your past 600 it's a much tougher purchase.
I think it's not just the console pricing, costs of everything else going up is hurting people's disposable income. Add in some job uncertainty and you got people less likely to spend on non essentials.
At this point in time during a gen you'd be paying about 60% of what the console was priced at when it launched, even lower during hard sales like Black Friday, but nowadays you're lucky if you pay the same price as launch. I ain't surprised by these results and shit is looking to get even worse.

you're right, i edited my post. for some reason all these years i thought it was 250...
