《SAROS》Zenith 更新今日意外上线

To everyone’s surprise, Housemarque has surprise launched their Zenith update for SAROS this morning.

Only recently, during PAX week, I asked Gregory Louden, SAROS’s Creative Director, whether the update was on track for this year, and he confirmed it was. Little did I know how soon.

The free update includes several requested features, including a NG+ mode, a boss rush mode called Overlord Rush, more modifiers, gyro-aiming, and even more accessibility features, including the ability to slow down the game’s speed.

For us, we wanted to do something new. We have a team working on Zenith, and the goal was “how can we provide a new experience to play?” said Louden, when speaking on the update and how it differs from Returnal’s post-launch content.

“So, immediately it was like Overlord Rush; we also wanted to do a new game plus mode, hence Eclipse Layers. We just wanted to do a new experience for players rather than repeat ourselves.”

During the review period, we scored Saros a 9.5 out of 10, stating:

“Saros is an utterly sizzling romp through a sci-fi cosmic horror show that showcases Housemarque’s pedigree for spectacular, arcade action.

Not only is Saros a user-friendly evolution of Returnal’s core systems, which were already near-perfection, but it’s an exceptional, technical showpiece for a console that makes faultless performance seem magical.”
