    • EVERY. CHOICE. MATTERS. No two playthroughs will be the same.
      • Throughout the campaign, the player must make critical choices that can bring the squad together...or tear it apart.
        • Be careful, some story decisions can lead to an operative leaving Zero Company permanently.
      • With PERMADEATH enabled by default, your operatives (excluding Hawks) can die at any point throughout the story. Zero Company will adapt to such events with characters memorializing their fallen comrades depending on the bonds made.

  • Jae Mordant - Hailing from the ruthless House Mordant of Shu-Toran, this Ore-Baroness convinced the Republic to hire Zero Company in an effort to help reclaim her planet, Luunata, now under siege by the Infinite Coil and Separatist Alliance. FAQ
Q: Is an internet connection required to play the game?
A: You can play through the entirety of Zero Company offline. An internet connection is only required to install a day-one patch.

Q: Are there microtransactions?
A: No. The only DLC that exists is the contents included in the Deluxe Edition.

Q: How long is the campaign?
A: Bit Reactor estimates that it'll take 30-40 hours for the average player to beat the main story, which doesn't include the various Strategic Operations or Tactical Missions at your disposal.

Q: Is the campaign time-sensitive like XCOM?
A: No, there is no equivalent to the Avatar Project in XCOM that forces a game over if ignored. However, you cannot put the main story off indefinitely. You are given a set number of cycles (or days) to do a critical story mission. On the very last cycle, you are forced to do said story mission to progress through the game.

Q: Does the story go beyond the Clone Wars?
A: Yes! Details are sparse, but we do know that the story takes place during the end of the Clone Wars and a little bit afterwards. What happens then? You'll have to play the game to find out!

Q: What are the planets that we can visit in Zero Company?
A: In Strategic Operations, the text-based "choose-your-own-adventure" excursions, the player can visit over 150 planets. In Tactical Missions, the player can visit 12 unique locations with a few more kept in secrecy.

Q: I don't want to play as a grizzled old man! Can I customize Hawks?
A: Yes, you can fully customize Hawks. You'll have access to six Star Wars species (Human, Twi'Lek, Togruta, Zabrak, Mirialan, and Devaronian), two body types, two voice types (one is masculine and cowboy-like whereas the other is feminine and agent-like), an incredible amount of clothing attire, and lots more options.

Q: Do I need to play with the authored story characters?
A: No! You'll encounter these characters throughout the narrative in which they are not required to be on your team after their introduction. Nearly the entire game is playable with custom operators.

Q: Can I romance characters?
A: Fire Emblem, this is not.

Q: Can I make a full squad of Clone Troopers or Astromechs?
A: For narrative purposes, these type of operatives are not immediately accessible. Moreover, team compositions like this can only be used in non-story tactical missions since Hawks is required in the main campaign.

Q: How involved are custom operators? Will I be missing out if I choose not to use the characters made by Bit Reactor?
A: They are very, very involved. For starters, you can choose between 10 personalities for your custom operators with an additional two for Clone Troopers and Astromechs, respectively. They'll banter with the team, form relationships with others that'll dynamically change, and have personal likes/dislikes when it comes to your decisions.

Q: In XCOM, there is an "Iron Man" mode where there is only one save and manual saving is disabled. Does Zero Company have this feature as well?
A: Yes, it is referred to as "Beskar Mode" and can be enabled or disabled prior to a playthrough.

Q: How many difficulty options are there?
A: There are four difficulty options: Story, Normal, Hard, and Expert.

Q: How does permadeath work and is it a requirement?
A: Once an operator has their HP reduced to 0, they'll accrue an injury. If left untreated, they will die once a third injury is achieved. Injuries can be treated through the Medbay (limited space without upgrades, takes a certain amount of cycles to complete) or Bacta Tank (costs credits but is instantaneous, disabled on Hard and Expert modes). Be careful, though! Injuries can also happen through the text-based operations depending on your choices, which means that operators *can* die here. Don't forget that multiple injuries can be gained in a single mission or cycle.

Although Bit Reactor intends for Zero Company to be played with permadeath enabled by default, you can choose to play with or without it. Plus, it exists as a separate toggle so you can play on Story Mode with Permadeath enabled if you so choose.

Q: Is Zero Company available on the Steam Deck?
A: Despite not being Steam Deck verified, yes, it is playable. Unfortunately, performance is not too great.
