Saros has a free new update rolling out to PS5 players, adding a New Game Plus-style replay path, the Overlord Rush boss challenge and new accessibility options. Housemarque’s third-person shooter gets a fresh endgame to dive into, whether you’re keen to revisit Carcosa or take on its bosses back-to-back.

The Zenith Update is available at no extra cost. VGC and TweakTown report that its additions include New Game Plus, Overlord Rush, projectile slowing and auto-fire, giving players new ways to approach the game’s fast-moving combat.

A free update with more ways to play

Auto-fire makes Saros fire whenever a weapon is aimed at a hostile, so you don’t have to keep holding the trigger during a fight. Reloading is still manual, leaving that familiar bit of combat timing in your hands.

The update also adds an option to slow down incoming projectiles, giving players more time to read enemy attacks and react. Those assist options sit alongside the new replay content rather than replacing the game’s bullet-heavy action; you can choose the sort of challenge you want when returning to the planet.

Auto-fire is one of the latest examples of PlayStation accessibility features aimed at changing how players interact with games. Sony has also explored accessibility technology for PlayStation, while Saros puts an optional firing aid directly into the action.

Overlord Rush puts bosses in the spotlight

Overlord Rush groups Saros’s bosses into sets of up to three, turning the mode into a focused test of how well you can handle the game’s biggest encounters. Its final set, Totality, brings every boss in the game together.

That structure gives returning players a direct route to the fights they want to practise, without needing to replay the whole campaign first. It also makes Totality a sizeable final challenge for anyone ready to face the full boss roster.

Housemarque’s replayability and accessibility goals

Housemarque announced the Zenith Update the previous month. Design lead Abebe Tinari outlined two aims for the patch: giving existing players more replayability and making Saros more accessible to a wider audience.

VGC awarded Saros five stars in its review, describing it as one of PS5’s most memorable first-party games. With the free update now rolling out, PS5 players can try the new modes and assist options as they arrive on their consoles.
