Control Resonant Sells 1 Million Copies, Becomes Remedy's Fastest-Selling GameControl Resonant has reached a major sales milestone, with developer Remedy Entertainment confirming that the supernatural action RPG has sold more than one million copies worldwide less than a month after launch.

The achievement was announced on October 15 through an official press release, with Remedy confirming that the sequel is now the fastest-selling game in the company’s 31-year history.

Released on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Control Resonant reached the milestone in approximately three weeks, setting a new record for the Finnish developer.

Previously, that record belonged to Alan Wake 2, which launched in October 2023 and became Remedy’s fastest-selling title at the time. According to the company’s February 2024 sales announcement, Alan Wake 2 sold one million copies by the end of December 2023 before reaching 1.3 million in early February 2024.

Control Resonant has now surpassed that initial sales pace, reaching one million copies significantly faster than its predecessor in Remedy’s sales rankings.

Remedy Entertainment CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon described the achievement as a strong start, particularly considering that Control Resonant is the studio’s first self-published release of this scale.

Gaudechon also highlighted the competitive release window and thanked both the development team and players for supporting the game. He emphasized that the sequel has attracted longtime fans while introducing new audiences to the Control universe.

The milestone is especially important for Remedy as it continues expanding its publishing operations. Unlike the original Control, which was published by 505 Games, Control Resonant is developed and published directly by Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures serving as a co-financing and co-production partner.

The sequel follows Dylan Faden, the brother of original Control protagonist Jesse Faden, as he navigates a reality-warping Manhattan overwhelmed by a supernatural crisis.

After years of confinement under the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan must confront increasingly dangerous paranatural threats while searching for his missing sister.

Rather than focusing primarily on Jesse’s familiar gun-based combat, Control Resonant introduces a stronger emphasis on melee combat through the Aberrant, a supernatural weapon capable of transforming into different forms.

Players can also develop Dylan’s supernatural abilities as they explore the distorted environments of Manhattan, making the sequel a more action RPG-focused experience.

The sales announcement coincides with the arrival of Control Resonant’s physical editions, which launched worldwide on October 15 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Both Standard and SteelBook Editions are available.

The game is also available digitally through Steam and the Epic Games Store, with GeForce NOW support. Remedy has additionally confirmed that a Mac version is planned for later in 2026.

While the company has not provided a breakdown of sales across individual platforms, reaching one million copies in just three weeks represents a significant milestone for Remedy’s growing Control franchise.
