Mythic Wavehas announced a dark fantasy RPG Rewolt. Heavily inspired by hardcore old-school classics from the 2000s, the game invites players to the world of magic, intrigue, and tough choices. The development team of about 10 people aimed to recreate the original feel of dark RPGs. To achieve this goal, they created a handcrafted world with deep lore and no room for weakness. However, Rewolt strongly reminds players of the recently remastered Gothic 1, which can invite direct comparisons. While the game remains in active development, players can add it to their wishlist on Steam.
Rewolt invites players to the continent of Tellus. A remote canyon called No Man’s Land becomes the main stage for the history-changing events. Players take on the role of a nameless protagonist caught between two warring factions in a world broken by conquest and corrupted by the element Woltium. The game promises to feature an unapologetic story of power, spirituality, magic, and religion where choices matter. Combat relies on cooldowns with no stamina or mana systems. Zero-to-hero progression and no level scaling aim to recapture the classic RPG experience.
